Steve is Deputy General Counsel at Point72, L.P. where he oversees the tax function. He graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Accounting, cum laude and from Pace University Law School with a J.D. He is a member of the Tax Steering Committee of the Managed Fund Association and he currently serves on the board of directors of the Point72 Employee Giving Foundation, the Stamford Police Foundation, and the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. He started his career in Big 4 public accounting where he worked for 7 years, and later spent 8 years at GE Capital before moving on to S.A.C. Capital and Point72 Asset Management, L.P. where he has been working for the past 19 years. In addition, Stephen was also recently appointed as CFO of the New York Mets!

James Grunberger
Co-Chairman

James Grunberger was born and raised in Stamford. He graduated from Stamford public schools and Brown University. In addition to working as a 3rd generation jeweler, he is the Co-Chair and Founder of the East Side Partnership, a safe clean & green initiative.

James is also one of the founders of the Neighbors Link Community, now called “Building One”, as well as one of the Founders and mentor of Future 5, a non-profit committed to helping low-income, motivated students in Stamford and Fairfield County since 2009.

Robin Hayes
Secretary
Robin Hayes is a committed professional at Point72, L.P., leveraging her expertise to serve as a board member of the Stamford Police Foundation since 2011. Nominated by her manager, Steve Canna, Robin has played a key role in advancing the Foundation’s mission and currently holds the position of Secretary.
 
In her role as Secretary, Robin oversees the Crime Stoppers program in partnership with the Stamford Police Department, contributing to community safety and engagement. She was also the Foundation’s point person for the acquisition of a Bear Cat vehicle for the Special Response Team, reflecting her support for enhancing law enforcement capabilities.
 
Robin’s involvement extends beyond the Stamford Police Foundation. She is a board member of the Norwalk Police Athletic League, where she manages the amateur boxing gym, promoting youth development through sports. Additionally, Robin serves as Second Vice President on the Connecticut Boxing Hall of Fame board, where she is integral to planning the annual Hall of Fame Induction dinner.
 
Robin’s diverse roles highlight her commitment to community service and public engagement.

Kari Pollak
Board Member

Kari Pollak is Manager of Special Events for Stamford Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of Stamford Hospital. In this position, she is responsible for organizing and executing all of the Foundation’s events throughout the year. She is known for her extensive event management experience, broad network of resources and attention to detail. These distinguishing qualities have led to a long line of successful events both in terms of participation and fundraising.

Alex Rohan
Board Member

Alexander joined the SPF board of directors in April 2019. He has over 25 years of professional experience in investment banking, law, finance and philanthropy, and is currently a Managing Director at Miller Buckfire, an affiliate of Stifel Financial. Alex also serves on the board of the May Ellen and Gerald Ritter Foundation and previously served on the boards of BuildOn! and the Catholic Foundation for Brooklyn and Queens.
Alex and his family have been part of the Stamford community since 2002.
