The Stamford Police Foundation collaborated with the Stamford Police Department to launch a Crime & Gunstoppers program. The Foundation awards monetary payments to local residents for tips provided that result in an arrest and conviction of a criminal or the seizure of a weapon.
Together The Program Thrives
The Foundation also works with the Police Department to develop, execute and fund effective advertising for the program. The Gun Stoppers program has been one of the most successful programs run by the SPD in recent years and has driven down violent crime rates drastically since its inception.
