Stamford Police Foundation Funding

Stamford Police Foundation has three major areas of funding focus:

Crime/Gun Stoppers

Crime/Gun Stoppers
The Foundation awards monetary payments to local residents for tips provided that result in an arrest and conviction of a criminal or
the seizure of a weapon. The Foundation also works with the Police Department to develop, execute and fund effective advertising for the program. The Gun Stoppers program has been one of the most successful programs run by the SPD in recent years and has driven down violent crime rates drastically since its inception.

K-9 Unit

K-9 Unit
The Foundation is a continued supporter of the K-9 unit’s officers and K-9s. The K-9 unit is a program that always garners a lot of community support as well. With targeted donations from the community, as well as Foundation support, we have been able to provide bulletproof vests for the K-9s, training and uniforms for the K-9 handlers, and supplies such as collars, leashes and training toys. The SPF along with the East Side Partnership provided initial funding for the K-9 programs and continues to support their activities.

Management Training

Management Training
Since the inception of the Stamford Police Foundation, we have funded seven senior leaders for management training programs at the Harvard Kennedy School of Executive Education and the Police Executive Research Forum.
